Blocked Chimney Pipe
HFD Social Media Team, March 31
On Wednesday evening, the HFD was dispatched to a reported chimney fire at a residence located off of Marlorville Road. HFD units arrived on scene within 4 minutes to find a homeowner removing the pipe from the top of a wood burning stove. Quick Knock Down for Engine Crew

A Monday morning car fire on Tuscarora Drive threatened another vehicle and a residence. The crew on Engine 45-11 was able to quickly knock down the fire limiting the damage to the adjacent vehicle, while protecting the home.

Central Hudson Gas Safety Team visits HFD

On Monday evening, New Hackensack FD joined the HFD for joint training provided by Central Hudson Gas & Electric. Central Hudson’s Director of Gas Operations and his team instructed members from both departments on a multitude of subjects, including natural gas recognition and safety, gas metering, and shut off considerations and processes. Hughsonville Firefighters Assist New Hackensack with Garage Fire

On Sunday, March 20, 2022 at 5:37am, the Hughsonville Fire Department was dispatched, under preplanned mutual aid, to assist the New Hackensack Fire Department for a reported barn fire on Widmer Road in the Town of Wappinger.
