Fire Contained to Single Apartment |

PRESS RELEASE – For Immediate Release For Additional Information Contact: District Duty Captain William Beale (914) 475-4075 On Sunday, February 20, 2022, at 10:00am, the Hughsonville Fire Department was dispatched for a possible house fire at 6 MacFarlane Road in the Town of Wappinger. Residents contacted Dutchess County 911 and reported smoke coming from a closet in a living room. The fire was brought under control within 40 minutes. Hughsonville Fire Department First Assistant Chief Paul Rogers, Jr. thanked his members and those who assisted his department on the scene, “outstanding job, a perfect example of training and teamwork put together.” Hughsonville was assisted by New Hackensack, Village of Fishkill, Rombout, New Hamburg, Chelsea, East Fishkill, and Glenham fire departments, as well as the Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response and Town of Wappinger EMS. The Red Cross was contacted to assist the two families displaced by the fire.
