Hughsonville FD Responded to Three Vehicle MVA

On August 12th at 4:26pm, Hughsonville Fire Department and Town of Wappinger Ambulance were dispatched to a three car motor vehicle accident on Route 9 between Myers Corners Road and Old Hopewell Road.

As FD and EMS were en route to the scene DC911 advised that the PD were reporting a three vehicle accident involving a school bus and one vehicle off the road way on its side with one patient entrapped. The HFD responded with 45-1(Chief Jerrick), 45-2(Asst. Chief Rogers), 45-11(Engine), 45-55(Heavy Rescue), 45-62(Brush Truck), 45-67(EMS Fly Car), and 45-69(Utility Truck). Firefighters from 45-55 and 45-11 utilized the Hurst Cutters and Spreaders also known as the Jaws of Life to extricate one patient from the rolled over vehicle. A total of five ambulances were requested by Hughsonville Command to transport a total of eight patients to local hospitals. Route 9 north bound between Old Hopewell Road and Myers Corners Road was closed for several hours before being reopened due to New York State Police conducting their investigation.
