It is with profound sadness that the Hughsonville Fire Department announces the passing of our Past Chief of Department, Timothy Laffin.

Past Chief Laffin joined the Hughsonville Fire Department in 2001. He quickly advanced through the ranks, being elected Assistant Chief in 2008, a position he held with distinction for six years. In 2014, he was elected by the membership to serve as Chief of Department. He became a Life Member of the Hughsonville Fire Company in 2017.

During his distinguished time with our department, Past Chief Laffin provided 11 years of dedicated service as a Chief Officer, including five years as Chief of Department. He remained an active volunteer firefighter with the department for a total of 20 years.

Past Chief Laffin will be deeply missed by the members of the Hughsonville Fire Department and the entire community we serve. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for his many years of selfless service, leadership, and commitment to our firefighters and the residents of Hughsonville.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Chief Laffin’s family, friends and W.T. Garner Engine Co #1 during this difficult time.

Rest in peace, Chief Laffin.
