| On Friday, September 11th, members of the Hughsonville Fire Department joined fellow firefighters, first responders, and members of our community to honor and remember the lives forever changed on September 11, 2001.
As we marked the 25th anniversary, our members attended both the Town of Wappinger’s 9/11 Remembrance Service and the New Hackensack Fire Company’s Remembrance Service.
Twenty-five years later, the fire service continues to carry the weight of that day. We remember the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice, along with the law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, and countless civilians who never made it home. We also remember the families, friends, and communities whose lives were forever changed.
We remember the courage of those who ran toward danger while others were running away. We remember the sacrifice, the bravery, and the selflessness displayed by so many that day.
25 years later, we remember.
We honor their sacrifice.
We carry their memory.
We will never forget.
