Mutual Aid Structure Fire – New Hackensack Fire District on October 26, 2025 – 8:30 PM
On Sunday evening, October 26th, at approximately 8:30 PM, the New Hackensack, Hughsonville, and Village of Fishkill Fire Departments were dispatched for a reported structure fire on Smith Crossing Road, located within the New Hackensack Fire District.
The first arriving Chief Officer from New Hackensack encountered heavy fire conditionswithin the structure and requested a Second Alarm, bringing in additional resources from surrounding departments.
The Hughsonville Fire Department responded with:
45-2 (Duty Captain)
45-3 (Assistant Chief)
45-31 (Tanker & Manpower)
45-32 (Tanker)
A crew of Hughsonville firefighters also remained on standby at our station to cover any additional alarms or further requests for assistance. Hughsonville firefighters and apparatus operated on scene for approximatelyfour hours before being placed back in service by New Hackensack Command. (Bill Johnson FDPHOTOUNIT)
